As we head into the darker months here in the UK, I want to share with you quick simple tips to that work great as an immunity boost.
Winter is s a beautiful season with lots to enjoy and relish, so I want to make sure that you FEEL great too.
Here are 4 simple quick pointer.
So it is no surprise that as an immunity boost we need sleep, but did you know that in the winter it is important to get more sleep than what you need in the lighter months. To know how much sleep you need, try not setting an alarm on a day when you don’t have to get up and allow yourself to wake up naturally.
That will determine whether you are a 7 hour kinda person or a 9 hour ( I’m an 8 hour in the winter just so you know).
Also to ensure that those hours are QUALITY sleep, dim the lights early and begin to wind the brain down about an hour before you want to fall asleep – so yes, my friend, that means getting off electronics sooner!!
You want your diet to consist of super healthy fruits & veggies but as an extra booster take Vitamin C & Zinc.
Vitamin C is vital for the healing & growth of the body. To heal and repair you need Vit C and plus it is necessary for the body to be able to absorb Iron, essential for blood production.
Equally Zinc is essential for health & regrowth and the immune system so double up on the benefits and add these supplements to your daily routine.
Natural daylight and fresh air will help to keep you healthy. The mood boosting effects of daylight are well known so to keep your mood lifted (which also helps to fight bugs) try and get outside for a little each day.
If you can bare it, open the windows at home for at least 5 minutes to add to the flow and circulation of air around the house. Stagnant air is not good so allow the air to flow around the house.
Adding to the fresh air is movement. Whether it be a dog walk, a dance around the kitchen, a yoga class or whatever is good for you, moving the body will move the energy. To practice with me look here.
We are a system of energy so if energy gets stuck in the body we can fall into dis-ease, therefore movement is vital for good health and boosting immunity.
