Menopause isn’t an ending. It’s a beginning. A sacred shift. A invitation to awaken.
In the hustle of modern life, menopause often gets reduced to hot flushes, mood swings, and hormone charts. But if we step back and listen a little more deeply, we find something far more powerful: a gateway. A spiritual reawakening. A chance to come home to ourselves.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, menopause is referred to as “The Second Spring.” This isn’t just a poetic phrase – it’s a profound shift in energy. It marks the transition from the outward, often others-focused first half of life into a more inward, self-honouring phase.
Think about it. After years of caregiving, achieving, and doing, menopause invites us to pause. To reflect. To ask:
Who am I now? What do I truly want? What wisdom have I gathered?
Here’s the truth many don’t talk about: menopause cracks us open. Physically, emotionally, spiritually. And in that cracking open, we’re asked to release what no longer serves us.
We shed outdated roles. Let go of perfectionism. We soften and become fierce all at once.
This can feel messy. Lonely. Even frightening. But underneath it all, it’s a return to essence. A remembering.
Many women describe feeling more connected to their intuition than ever before during this time. The ‘veil’ lifts. Old boundaries dissolve. And the deep inner voice we may have ignored for decades suddenly speaks – and it’s loud.
We celebrate puberty. We mark weddings. But menopause? We often suffer it silently.
What if we honoured it instead? What if we treated menopause as the sacred rite of passage it truly is?
As a Kundalini Yoga teacher, I see menopause as the perfect time to reconnect with subtle energy. Breathwork (pranayama), meditation, and mantra can support the nervous system, balance emotions, and reignite spiritual fire.
Practices like Sat Kriya, Kirtan Kriya, and Meditation for Intuition are potent tools during this time of transition. They gently guide you back to centre – to your truth.
Menopause is not the end of your vibrancy. It’s the blooming of your power.
This is your Sacred Shift – a season of wisdom, clarity, sovereignty, and soul. A time to stop shrinking. To expand. To stand tall in your skin and say:
“I am not fading. I am rising.”
So next time you hear the word ‘menopause’, smile quietly. You know something deeper. You know this is your awakening.
