Dreams, desires, goals, call thenm what you will, they exist in all of us.
I have just sat, enjoying my coffee, whilst watching my parents take off to New Zealand via an app on my phone. Not an ordinary day that is for sure.
It is a holiday of a lifetime for them as they tour NZ, visit family & friends in Oz and spend some time in Fiji (my Mum’s dream location).
As their plane taxied I sent them huge well wishes and added ‘I don’t mind if you don’t come back’!
That isn’t becasue I don’t want them here, but that their time to live their life on their terms came about 30 years ago! And yet, only today have they finally done it.
Ok Covid also put it back by a year, but even so, they have dreamt of NZ & Fiji for as long as I can remember and only today this dream is being realsed.
When I was a child my Dad worked for British Rail (as it was then) which meant that we had free rail travel in the UK and supplemented in Europe and ferry crossings.
Growing up on the south coast meant our weekends were spent in France, Holland, Germany, or Belgium.
Mum and Dad have always had the travel bug but then got stuck – as my bro and I went through our teens and into adult hood, grandchildren came along and they started caring for my Nan – their dreams were just pushed back and pushed back.
If you have seen the movie ‘Up’ you’ll know what I am talking about.
Life gets in the way sometimes. Dreams are put way down the priority list.
Do you relate to this?
Do you put things on the back burner, thinking ‘some other day’?
Why? Why do we do it?
Well, money is a huge factor I know, but once a decicison is made, the money can make itself available.
It must start with the intention.
For a dream to be realised, you MUST make the clear and concise commitment to make it happen – and then take a small step. You have to WANT it.
Do you really WANT it?
Don’t visualise the full thing – just the first step.
You must be willing to allow things to happen, be ready to receive the opportunity to make changes and DO the thing.
Are you ready?
