Our hormones are like an internal symphony — always shifting, responding, ebbing and flowing with the moon, our emotions, and the seasons of our life. Kundalini, with its sacred technology of breath, movement, mantra and stillness, offers powerful ways to soothe, balance and nourish our hormonal system.
Whether you’re moving through your moon cycle, peri-menopause, menopausal, or simply feeling a little off-kilter, creating a daily Kundalini ritual can gently guide your body back to balance.
Here are five beautifully simple rituals you can weave into your day to support hormonal harmony through the lens of Kundalini.
Before you rise, tune in to your body’s wisdom.
Place one hand on your heart, one on your belly. Close your eyes and breathe slowly and deeply through the nose. Feel your breath expand into your ribs, womb, and heart.
🌿 Why it helps: Long Deep Breathing calms the nervous system and lowers cortisol — the stress hormone that throws everything else out of rhythm.
Three minutes a day is magic.
Kneel down on your heels, arms stretched up alongside the ears, fingers interlaced (except index fingers). Chant “Sat” as you pull the navel in, and “Nam” as you release.
🌿 Why it helps: This potent Kundalini kriya stimulates the sexual and glandular system — especially the ovaries and adrenal glands — and supports deep energetic cleansing whilst promoting hormonal balance.
Touch as ritual. Love as medicine.
Warm a little sesame or almond oil. Massage it gently into your lower belly, heart, and wrists. As you do, whisper to yourself: “I honour my cycles. I trust my flow.”
🌿 Why it helps: This Ayurvedic-inspired practice calms the endocrine system, and the sacred touch brings oxytocin — the hormone of love and trust.
Peace in, peace out.
With the right thumb, close your right nostril. Inhale slowly through the left. Then close the left nostril and exhale through the right. Continue gently, for 3-5 minutes.
🌿 Why it helps: This breath practice balances the pituitary gland — the master gland that oversees your entire hormonal system. It also harmonises the hemispheres of the brain.
A sacred seal for feminine wisdom.
Sit comfortably and form Yoni Mudra (hands forming a downward triangle at the womb). Close your eyes and chant “Ong So Hung” — “I am One with the Divine.”
🌿 Why it helps: This practice directs energy into the womb space, awakening creative and hormonal flow. It connects you with your intuition and feminine power.
✨ Let Kundalini be your anchor.
Even a few minutes a day can create a ripple of peace and balance through your whole being. Honour your hormones as sacred messengers. With breath, movement and loving attention, you can come back into harmony — again and again.
💫 You are cyclical, powerful, radiant — and enough.
With love,
Jo xx
